“I watched this T.V. show hosted by Alan Alda about research being done on people doing energy work with one another.” She was standing by the door, leaning against the frame as she often does after delivering the weekly 80 PSI oxygen tank.
It was just after 8 AM, and I’d only just risen from the slumbers of my bed minutes earlier. She, on the other hand, had been up for hours, delivered her youngest to school, and was now en route home to study for a Chemistry final.
I made it a point to face her directly and asked, “Yeah? Was it done professionally, as in double-blind study and all?
She went on to explain that it wasn’t, and that the contenders in this particular game were both experienced in the field of energy work and not. The conclusion, because everyone who was on the receiving end “said” they benefitted in a positive manner, was that energy work was a placebo effect.
Or something like that.
I probably should have written this when I thought to do so 10 hours ago because I can’t remember the details. I do recall saying that it was a nice gesture, and that it deserves the same protocol other venues receive in being researched. I also remembered a really cool fact, which is this: Some things are sacred, and you just won’t figure them out because they aren’t supposed to be revealed. How energy works in relationship, the primary word being relationship, is one of them. This is only my opinion; I could be wrong.
